What are gratitudes, anyway?
A gratitude is an expression of something or someone that you’re grateful for; a verbal or written statement that shows you can “get out of your own way” and be thankful for even the most teeny-tiny things that occur in your life every day.
What’s the goal of writing down your gratitudes?
When you begin each day giving thanks and expressing how grateful you are, it means that you appreciate your life and you’re thankful for every day that you’re alive, REGARDLESS of your circumstances.
What are the challenges of creating daily gratitudes?
The challenges are not about the actual writing process or thinking up things to be grateful for in any given moment. The challenge surfaces when you have to name three things you’re grateful for in the midst of an emotional or unbearable storm, an unpleasant time, a broken relationship, an outcome of a situation that’s depressing to you, rejection, abandonment, loneliness, heartbreak, bad news, or any other thing that you can imagine.
If you’re alive, you can get through the situation and be grateful, REGARDLESS of your circumstances!
What is the significance of writing down three gratitudes every day? (That seems like a lot of work but truly isn’t.)
What I do when I write down three gratitudes every day and share those gratitudes with others, is that I vow that I cannot repeat the same gratitude on any other day. (What?)
Oh, it would be easy to write three generic gratitudes and trick yourself into thinking that someone would really BELIEVE that you had created three brand new gratitudes. But gratitudes come from a thankful heart.
What are you thankful for today?

Seriously, miracles and supernatural things begin to happen in your life when you take 5 minutes every day to write down three gratitudes. You might also bless someone else who reads what you’ve written.
